Echeveria "Red Suyon" variegated – Origin: Asia

The Echeveria "Red Suyon" variegated is a compact succulent that forms balanced rosettes, with fleshy and broad leaves, smooth and slightly dusty surface. The structure of the rosette remains open yet orderly, with leaves that gently overlap and show a slight curvature towards the center, providing a clean and defined silhouette.

The Echeveria "Red Suyon" variegated features a base in soft green tones combined with broad cream areas, while the margins develop an intense reddish coloration that concentrates on the edges and tips of the leaves. This contrast between the lighter center and the marked edges creates a very defined visual pattern, which is accentuated with exposure to light and adds depth to each leaf within the rosette.

Variegated Echeveria: cultivation and care

Variegated echeverias develop a lower photosynthetic capacity than their completely green counterparts, which directly affects their growth rate, sensitivity to excess sunlight, and tolerance to watering.

  • 🌞 A lot of filtered light and soft exposure
  • 💧 Water only with the substrate completely dry
  • 🔥 Avoid extreme heat and prolonged humidity
  • 🌱 Slower growth than non-variegated echeverias

Environmental stability, good ventilation, and avoiding sudden changes in location help maintain more compact rosettes and a more stable variegation over time.

During intense summer, they may partially slow down their growth, especially in warm climates. In these phases, controlling excess moisture is much more important than increasing the frequency of watering.
