Echeveria "Pollux" variegated – Origin: Asia

The Echeveria “Pollux” variegated is the variegated version of this hybrid of undocumented origin, although by morphology it is frequently associated with a possible influence of Echeveria lilacina. It develops a wide but balanced rosette, with fleshy, slightly curved leaves arranged in an enveloping manner, where that soft and dusty aesthetic typical of lilac-like lines is appreciated, but with a more compact and ornamental structure.

The Echeveria “Pollux” variegated exhibits variegation in cream, light green, and pinkish hues, especially visible under good lighting. This variegation is distributed irregularly but harmoniously, generating soft contrasts that reinforce its delicate and elegant appearance. In combination with its open yet orderly shape, it positions itself as a very attractive variety among variegated hybrids with a softer and collectible profile.

Variegated Echeveria: cultivation and care

Variegated echeverias develop a lower photosynthetic capacity than their completely green counterparts, which directly affects their growth rate, sensitivity to excess sunlight, and tolerance to watering.

  • 🌞 A lot of filtered light and soft exposure
  • 💧 Water only with the substrate completely dry
  • 🔥 Avoid extreme heat and prolonged humidity
  • 🌱 Slower growth than non-variegated echeverias

Environmental stability, good ventilation, and avoiding sudden changes in location help maintain more compact rosettes and a more stable variegation over time.

During intense summer, they may partially slow down their growth, especially in warm climates. In these phases, controlling excess moisture is much more important than increasing the frequency of watering.
