Echeveria "Imbricata" variegated – Origin: Asia

🗂️ Discontinued variety

This variety is no longer part of Don Suculentas' active collection. Our catalog continuously evolves to maintain a high standard of quality, uniqueness, and cultivation behavior. Some plants, over time, no longer fit into this selection. Therefore, this specimen has been discontinued and will not be available again.

The Echeveria "Imbricata" variegated is a cross between E. glauca × E. metallica. It stands out for its symmetrical rosettes with cream, mint green, and bluish touches that appear hand-painted. The variegation can manifest irregularly, creating unique patterns on each plant. Its thick, wide, and slightly recurved leaves retain the classic elegance of echeveria ‘Imbricata’, but with a luminous touch that makes it stand out among other succulents.

Like many echeverias with stable variegation, the Echeveria "Imbricata" variegated variety exhibits somewhat slower growth than the non-variegated form, but it remains a hardy and easy-to-cultivate plant if provided with suitable conditions: good drainage, ample light, and moderate watering.

Variegated Echeveria: cultivation and care

Variegated echeverias develop a lower photosynthetic capacity than their completely green counterparts, which directly affects their growth rate, sensitivity to excess sunlight, and tolerance to watering.

  • 🌞 A lot of filtered light and soft exposure
  • 💧 Water only with the substrate completely dry
  • 🔥 Avoid extreme heat and prolonged humidity
  • 🌱 Slower growth than non-variegated echeverias

Environmental stability, good ventilation, and avoiding sudden changes in location help maintain more compact rosettes and a more stable variegation over time.

During intense summer, they may partially slow down their growth, especially in warm climates. In these phases, controlling excess moisture is much more important than increasing the frequency of watering.
