Echeveria "Ebony Azure" variegated – Origin: Asia

The Echeveria "Ebony Azure" variegated is a hybrid of agavoides that retains the firm and geometric structure typical of this group. It forms a compact rosette of thick, pointed leaves, where the bluish-green blends with broad areas of creamy yellow, creating a clean and well-defined contrast.

In the Echeveria "Ebony Azure" variegated , the variegation is usually arranged in central or lateral sectors of each leaf, while the tips are tinged with intense red under good lighting, reinforcing its marked and symmetrical character. The result is a balanced plant, with a strong presence and a very stable color pattern within collections of variegated echeverias of the agavoides line.

Variegated Echeveria: cultivation and care

Variegated echeverias develop a lower photosynthetic capacity than their completely green counterparts, which directly affects their growth rate, sensitivity to excess sunlight, and tolerance to watering.

  • 🌞 A lot of filtered light and soft exposure
  • 💧 Water only with the substrate completely dry
  • 🔥 Avoid extreme heat and prolonged humidity
  • 🌱 Slower growth than non-variegated echeverias

Environmental stability, good ventilation, and avoiding sudden changes in location help maintain more compact rosettes and a more stable variegation over time.

During intense summer, they may partially slow down their growth, especially in warm climates. In these phases, controlling excess moisture is much more important than increasing the frequency of watering.
