Echeveria "Butterfly Flying" variegated – Origin: Asia

The Echeveria "Butterfly Flying" variegated develops a compact and well-defined rosette, with slightly pointed fleshy leaves arranged in perfectly ordered layers. Its silhouette resembles overlapping wings in full motion, hence that suggestive and elegant name.

In the Echeveria "Butterfly Flying" variegated , the mint green base is combined with broad cream sectors on the outer part of the leaf, creating a clean and bright contrast. The tips, subtly marked in red with good exposure, add depth and definition to the whole. It is a balanced, fresh, and very harmonious variety, ideal for those seeking a variegated piece with a clear and refined aesthetic within a specialized collection.

Variegated Echeveria: cultivation and care

The variegated echeverias develop a lower photosynthetic capacity than their completely green counterparts, which directly affects their growth rate, sensitivity to excess sunlight, and tolerance to watering.

  • 🌞 A lot of filtered light and soft exposure
  • 💧 Water only with the substrate completely dry
  • 🔥 Avoid extreme heat and prolonged humidity
  • 🌱 Slower growth than non-variegated echeverias

Environmental stability, good ventilation, and avoiding sudden location changes help maintain more compact rosettes and a more stable variegation over time.

During intense summer, they may partially slow down their growth, especially in warm climates. In these phases, controlling excess moisture is much more important than increasing watering frequency.
