Echeveria "Atlantis" variegated – Origin: Asia

The Echeveria "Atlantis" variegated is a symmetrical rosette succulent with fleshy, broad leaves that are slightly wavy at the edges. It features a striking variegation that mixes blue-green tones with creamy or yellowish stripes, and under certain light conditions, it can develop pinkish hues at the margins.

The surface of its leaves is usually covered by a light bloom that gives it a dusty finish, characteristic of many select varieties. The Echeveria "Atlantis" variegated is a cultivar created by Renee O'Connell, known for developing elegant and resilient hybrids within the world of succulents such as E. "Lola" or E. "Perle von Nurnberg." Its growth is steady and maintains a compact and well-defined structure.

Variegated Echeveria: cultivation and care

Variegated echeverias develop a lower photosynthetic capacity than their completely green counterparts, which directly affects their growth rate, sensitivity to excess sunlight, and tolerance to watering.

  • 🌞 A lot of filtered light and soft exposure
  • 💧 Water only with the substrate completely dry
  • 🔥 Avoid extreme heat and prolonged humidity
  • 🌱 Slower growth than non-variegated echeverias

Environmental stability, good ventilation, and avoiding sudden location changes help maintain more compact rosettes and a more stable variegation over time.

During intense summer, they may partially slow their growth, especially in warm climates. In these phases, controlling excess moisture is much more important than increasing watering frequency.
