Echeveria "Amistar" variegated – Origin: Asia

The Echeveria "Amistar" variegated is a medium to large rosette succulent, composed of broad, fleshy, and slightly cupped leaves. It features a base coloration that ranges from pale green to cream, with irregular variegations in white or yellowish tones and margins tinged with pink to fuchsia, especially under sunlight exposure.

The Echeveria "Amistar" variegated develops a matte and slightly powdery leaf texture, maintaining a balanced and compact appearance when receiving good lighting. It is a variety appreciated in collections for the contrast between its light areas and the pink intensity of its edges in optimal light conditions.

Variegated Echeveria: cultivation and care

Variegated echeverias develop a lower photosynthetic capacity than their completely green counterparts, which directly affects their growth rate, sensitivity to excess sunlight, and tolerance to watering.

  • 🌞 A lot of filtered light and soft exposure
  • 💧 Water only with the substrate completely dry
  • 🔥 Avoid extreme heat and prolonged humidity
  • 🌱 Slower growth than non-variegated echeverias

Environmental stability, good ventilation, and avoiding sudden changes in location help maintain more compact rosettes and a more stable variegation over time.

During intense summer, they may partially slow down their growth, especially in warm climates. In these phases, controlling excess moisture is much more important than increasing the frequency of watering.
