Aeonium "Zhu Rong" variegated - Origin: Don Suculentas
The Aeonium "Zhu Rong" variegated is a mutation of Aeonium “Zwartkin” that stands out within the group of variegated aeoniums for its intense character and strong response to light. It maintains a well-defined rosette, with more stylized leaves that accentuate its dynamic appearance and provide a more dramatic aesthetic within the variegated succulents.
In the Aeonium "Zhu Rong" variegated, the base of the leaf starts with green and yellow tones in the center, while the outer areas quickly evolve into deep reds and dark shades. With high brightness, these tones intensify notably, creating very marked contrasts and a powerful visual effect.
Unlike other more balanced mutations, in this variety, the focus is on the aggressive transition to warm and dark colors. The variegated Aeonium "Zhu Rong" exhibits stable growth and good adaptation to cultivation, making it a highly valued option for collectors seeking specimens with a strong personality and evident chromatic evolution among variegated succulents. Plant imported from China, reproduced in our greenhouse.
Common names: "Zwartkin var 3", "God of Fire", "Vulcan"

Aeonium variegados : cultivation and care
Variegated aeoniums have a different growth cycle compared to many other succulents, primarily developing during autumn, winter, and spring, while significantly reducing their activity in summer.
- 🌞 A lot of filtered light and good ventilation
- 💧 Moderate watering only when the substrate is completely dry
- 🔥 Avoid intense sun and excess humidity during summer
- ❄️ Protect against prolonged frosts
During the summer dormancy, the rosettes tend to progressively close to protect the growth center from extreme heat. In this phase, excess moisture can easily cause root problems, especially with high temperatures and tropical nights.
Observing the plant and adapting to the actual growing climate is much more important than following strict watering schedules.
