Aeonium "Zhifou" variegated - Origin: Don Suculentas
The Aeonium “Zhifou” variegated is believed to be a mutation derived from A. ‘Glaze’, which in turn comes from A. ‘Maybach’ and ultimately from A. ‘Green Cashmere’, belonging to the group of more recent and unique variegated aeonium collections in the import market. It develops balanced rosettes with leaves that display a fine central yellow band traversed by green veins, accompanied by more intense green margins that provide contrast and visual depth. Under good lighting, the tips can develop reddish or burgundy hues, clearly differentiating it from other related varieties such as ‘Glaze’.
The most distinctive feature of the Aeonium “Zhifou” variegated is the random appearance of pink areas on the leaves, which in some specimens can extend over a large part of the rosette. This behavior partially resembles certain mutations like Poker Face, although in this variety the pink expression tends to appear more frequently and intensely. Being a relatively recent mutation, its long-term evolution is still under observation, although the first crops show good stability and balanced behavior within the collection of variegated succulents. Plant imported from China and reproduced in our greenhouse.

Aeonium variegados : cultivation and care
The variegated aeoniums have a different growth cycle than many other succulents, developing mainly during autumn, winter, and spring, while in summer they significantly reduce their activity.
- 🌞 A lot of filtered light and good ventilation
- 💧 Moderate watering only when the substrate is completely dry
- 🔥 Avoid intense sun and excess humidity during summer
- ❄️ Protect against prolonged frosts
During the summer dormancy, the rosettes tend to progressively close to protect the growth center from extreme heat. In this phase, excess moisture can easily cause root problems, especially with high temperatures and tropical nights.
Observing the plant and adapting to the actual growing climate is much more important than following strict watering schedules.
