Aeonium "WTJ" variegated (Wu Tian Ji) - Origin: Don Suculentas

The Aeonium "WTJ" variegated (Wu Tian Ji) is a mutation of Aeonium “Venus”, within the genetic line derived from Aeonium “Mardi Grass”, in which the variegation is expressed in a more irregular and dynamic way within the variegated aeoniums. It maintains the typical balanced structure of this family, with elongated leaves that are slightly narrower, providing a more vibrant aesthetic within the variegated succulents.

In the Aeonium "WTJ" variegated, the variegation is distributed in irregular blocks, combining intense green with broad areas of creamy yellow that expand unevenly along the leaf. Unlike other more symmetrical mutations, here the pattern is more unpredictable, with marked contrasts and less defined transitions. The edges develop pink tones with light, reinforcing their expressive character and making them a very attractive option for collectors seeking more dynamic variegated aeonium within variegated succulents. Imported plant from China reproduced in our greenhouse.

Common names: "Wu Tian Ji", "Dancer"

Aeonium variegados: cultivation and care

Variegated aeonium have a different growth cycle than many other succulents, developing mainly during autumn, winter, and spring, while in summer they significantly reduce their activity.

  • 🌞 A lot of filtered light and good ventilation
  • 💧 Moderate watering only when the substrate is completely dry
  • 🔥 Avoid intense sun and excess humidity during summer
  • ❄️ Protect against prolonged frosts

During the summer dormancy, the rosettes tend to gradually close to protect the growth center from extreme heat. In this phase, excess moisture can easily cause root problems, especially with high temperatures and tropical nights.

Observing the plant and adapting to the actual growing climate is much more important than following strict watering schedules.
