Aeonium "Porsche" variegated - Origin: Don Suculentas

The Aeonium “Porsche” variegated is probably a mutation of A. undulatum, with certain similarities to Aeonium “Zeus”, belonging to the group of variegated aeoniums of compact growth derived from this botanical line. It develops balanced and dense rosettes, with leaves that show a deep green center accompanied by broad cream or soft white margins. Under good lighting, the edges can acquire slight pinkish hues, providing an elegant and stable contrast for much of the year.

Unlike Aeonium “Zeus”, the Aeonium “Porsche” variegated maintains a much more consistent coloration between seasons, without extreme chromatic changes even during periods of greater exposure. It also exhibits very good lateral branching capacity, forming compact and structured groupings with somewhat smaller and more orderly rosettes. Its stability, ease of cultivation, and balanced growth make it a particularly interesting variety within collections of variegated ornamental aeonium. Plant imported from China and reproduced in our greenhouse.

Aeonium variegados: cultivation and care

The variegated aeoniums have a different growth cycle than many other succulents, developing mainly during autumn, winter, and spring, while in summer they significantly reduce their activity.

  • 🌞 A lot of filtered light and good ventilation
  • 💧 Moderate watering only when the substrate is completely dry
  • 🔥 Avoid intense sun and excess humidity during summer
  • ❄️ Protect against prolonged frosts

During the summer dormancy, the rosettes tend to progressively close to protect the growth center from extreme heat. In this phase, excess moisture can easily cause root problems, especially with high temperatures and tropical nights.

Observing the plant and adapting to the actual growing climate is much more important than following strict watering schedules.
