Aeonium "Peacock" variegated - Origin: Don Suculentas
The Aeonium "Peacock" variegated is a mutation of Aeonium “Black Magic” that completely transforms its aesthetic, shifting from a uniform dark to a much more dynamic and contrasted expression within the variegated aeoniums. It maintains the elegant structure and the fine, elongated leaves typical of this genetic line, but introduces a variegation that is very reactive to growing conditions, making it a very interesting piece within the variegated succulents.
In the Aeonium "Peacock" variegated, under low light conditions, the leaves display a central green band accompanied by cream areas with slight reddish hues. With increased light, the plant changes completely: the center progressively darkens to almost black tones, while the light areas evolve from cream to pink and finally to intense red, creating a very marked contrast.
This color game creates a layered effect reminiscent of a peacock's plumage. Unlike other more stable variegated plants, the Aeonium "Peacock" variegated is highly reactive to light, offering a constant chromatic evolution throughout the year. It exhibits relatively fast growth and good branching capability, making it ideal for collectors seeking dynamic variegated aeoniums with a strong presence among variegated succulents. Plant imported from China, reproduced in our greenhouse.

Aeonium variegados : cultivation and care
The variegated aeoniums have a different growth cycle compared to many other succulents, developing mainly during autumn, winter, and spring, while in summer they significantly reduce their activity.
- 🌞 A lot of filtered light and good ventilation
- 💧 Moderate watering only when the substrate is completely dry
- 🔥 Avoid intense sun and excess humidity during summer
- ❄️ Protect against prolonged frosts
During the summer dormancy, the rosettes tend to progressively close to protect the growth center from extreme heat. In this phase, excess moisture can easily cause root problems, especially with high temperatures and tropical nights.
Observing the plant and adapting to the actual growing climate is much more important than following strict watering schedules.
