Aeonium "Peacock Feather" variegated - Origin: Don Suculentas

The Aeonium “Peacock Feather” variegated is a mutation of Aeonium Halloween, known in Chinese as Kǒngquè Líng, belonging to the group of variegated aeonium collectibles derived from this well-known genetic line. It develops balanced rosettes with leaves that display a deep green center accompanied by broad, pronounced pink or reddish margins, creating a striking contrast reminiscent of the ornamental pattern of a peacock feather, the origin of its name.

The Aeonium “Peacock Feather” variegated stands out particularly for the intensity and definition of its colors, becoming a very eye-catching variety within the collection of variegated succulents. Although there is still no reliable botanical information about its exact origin, it maintains a stable appearance and balanced behavior in cultivation.Like other mutations derived from Aeonium Halloween, it usually exhibits slower growth during the early stages before progressively stabilizing over time and developing denser and more vigorous clusters. Plant imported from China and reproduced in our greenhouse.

Aeonium variegados: cultivation and care

Variegated aeoniums have a different growth cycle than many other succulents, developing mainly during autumn, winter, and spring, while in summer they significantly reduce their activity.

  • 🌞 A lot of filtered light and good ventilation
  • 💧 Moderate watering only when the substrate is completely dry
  • 🔥 Avoid intense sun and excess humidity during summer
  • ❄️ Protect against prolonged frosts

During the summer dormancy, the rosettes tend to progressively close to protect the growth center from extreme heat. In this phase, excess moisture can easily cause root problems, especially with high temperatures and tropical nights.

Observing the plant and adapting to the actual growing climate is much more important than following strict watering schedules.
