Aeonium "Orion Petrify" variegated - Origin: Don Suculentas
The Aeonium “Orion Petrify” variegated is a unique variant derived from the A. ‘Orion’, lineage related in origin to Aeonium canariense var. canariense, although with clearly differentiated morphological traits within the group of variegated aeonium collections. It develops compact and very dense rosettes, with rigid and firm leaves that give it a very characteristic stony appearance, the origin of its commercial name. Its balanced structure and the compact texture of the foliage make it a particularly striking variety even in young specimens.
The Aeonium “Orion Petrify” variegated features a deep green center accompanied by grayish or silvery hues and lighter edges that enhance the contrast and geometry of each rosette. It maintains a fairly stable coloration throughout the year and develops shoots regularly, forming compact and very structured clusters over time. Due to its solid aesthetics, chromatic stability, and balanced growth, it is a particularly interesting variety within collections of variegated succulents focused on compact and architectural forms. Imported plant from China and reproduced in our greenhouse.

Aeonium variegados : cultivation and care
The variegated aeoniums have a different growth cycle than many other succulents, developing mainly during autumn, winter, and spring, while in summer they significantly reduce their activity.
- 🌞 A lot of filtered light and good ventilation
- 💧 Moderate watering only when the substrate is completely dry
- 🔥 Avoid intense sun and excess humidity during summer
- ❄️ Protect against prolonged frosts
During the summer dormancy, the rosettes tend to progressively close to protect the growth center from extreme heat. In this phase, excess moisture can easily cause root problems, especially with high temperatures and tropical nights.
Observing the plant and adapting to the actual growing climate is much more important than following strict watering schedules.
