Aeonium "Hongyang" variegated - Origin: Don Suculentas
The Aeonium "Hongyang" variegated is a direct mutation of Aeonium “Mardi Grass” and one of the most recognizable bases within this genetic line, standing out for its balance between structure and color among variegated aeoniums. It maintains a compact and orderly rosette, with medium-width leaves and a uniform development that provides visual stability within variegated succulents.
In the Aeonium "Hongyang" variegated, the variegation is expressed more subtly, combining green with lighter areas in cream or yellow-green tones without completely dominating the leaf. With exposure to light, the edges acquire reddish tones that expand inward, creating a natural gradient with bronze and greenish hues. This behavior makes it a very balanced option for collectors looking for variegated aeonium with soft chromatic evolution among variegated succulents. Imported plant from China reproduced in our greenhouse.

Aeonium variegados : cultivation and care
Variegated aeonium have a different growth cycle than many other succulents, developing mainly during autumn, winter, and spring, while in summer they significantly reduce their activity.
- 🌞 A lot of filtered light and good ventilation
- 💧 Moderate watering only with the substrate completely dry
- 🔥 Avoid intense sun and excess humidity during summer
- ❄️ Protect against prolonged frosts
During the summer dormancy, the rosettes tend to progressively close to protect the growth center from extreme heat. In this phase, excess moisture can easily cause root problems, especially with high temperatures and tropical nights.
Observing the plant and adapting to the actual growing climate is much more important than following strict watering schedules.
