Aeonium "Chanel" variegated - Origin: Don Suculentas

The Aeonium "Chanel" variegated is a mutation of Aeonium “Plum Purdy” in which a variegation pattern appears that modifies its classic dark pigmentation. When the plant reverts, it completely regains the typical appearance of its baseline, confirming its direct belonging within the group of variegated aeoniums derived from this genetics.

The rosette of the aeonium "Chanel" variegated maintains the characteristic compact and balanced structure, with broad and well-formed leaves. In the Aeonium "Chanel" variegated, the center features brighter green tones that open towards lighter areas, while the margins develop intense reds, burgundies, and very pronounced dark shades, creating a very rich visual reading within the variegated succulents.

The variegation is not expressed in pure white, but in light greens that naturally integrate with the rest of the tissue, creating a smooth transition between areas. With good light exposure, the edges become noticeably more intense, reinforcing the contrast between the bright center and the dark exterior. The variegated Aeonium "Chanel" exhibits contained and stable growth, making it a very interesting option for collectors seeking elegant and balanced variegated aeoniums among variegated succulents. Plant imported from China, reproduced in our greenhouse.

Common names: "Round leaf white brocade", "Cornish rose variegated"

Aeonium variegados: cultivation and care

Variegated aeoniums have a different growth cycle compared to many other succulents, primarily developing during autumn, winter, and spring, while significantly reducing their activity in summer.

  • 🌞 A lot of filtered light and good ventilation
  • 💧 Moderate watering only when the substrate is completely dry
  • 🔥 Avoid intense sun and excess humidity during summer
  • ❄️ Protect against prolonged frosts

During the summer dormancy, the rosettes tend to progressively close to protect the growth center from extreme heat. In this phase, excess moisture can easily cause root problems, especially with high temperatures and tropical nights.

Observing the plant and adapting to the actual growing climate is much more important than following strict watering schedules.
