Aeonium "Aurora" variegated - Origin: Don Suculentas
The Aeonium “Aurora” variegated is a mutation that arose from A. “Velour”, belonging to the group of variegated aeonium collections most appreciated for the intensity of their color contrasts. Although it is often confused with A. “Big Bang Plus”, the latter actually comes from A. “Blushing Beauty”. It develops compact and balanced rosettes, with leaves that combine a bright green center accompanied by very dark, almost black spots and edges, creating a strong and particularly striking contrast within the genus.
The Aeonium “Aurora” variegated also stands out for its vigor and rapid growth, showing an excellent capacity for budding and forming new rosettes. With good light exposure, the dark areas become even more intense, reinforcing the dramatic character of the plant. As with some mutations derived from Velour, it may show a certain tendency to revert under certain growing conditions. Plant imported from China and reproduced in our greenhouse.

Aeonium variegados : cultivation and care
The variegated aeoniums have a different growth cycle than many other succulents, developing mainly during autumn, winter, and spring, while in summer they significantly reduce their activity.
- 🌞 A lot of filtered light and good ventilation
- 💧 Moderate watering only with the substrate completely dry
- 🔥 Avoid intense sun and excess humidity during summer
- ❄️ Protect against prolonged frosts
During the summer dormancy, the rosettes tend to progressively close to protect the growth center from extreme heat. In this phase, excess moisture can easily cause root problems, especially with high temperatures and tropical nights.
Observing the plant and adapting to the actual growing climate is much more important than following strict watering schedules.
