Aeonium "Atropurpureum" variegated - Origin: Don Suculentas
The Aeonium "Atropurpureum" variegated is a variegated form of the classic Aeonium atropurpureum, maintaining its original genetics but with a much richer expression within the variegated aeoniums. It features an open rosette, with long and slightly narrow leaves that provide a more natural and dynamic structure, moving away from the more perfect shapes of other variegated succulents.
In the Aeonium "Atropurpureum" variegated, the variegation appears in longitudinal stripes in cream or soft yellow tones, accompanying the leaf axis, while the green acts as a base. With good light, the edges turn intensely red or purple, expanding inward and blending with the variegation. This behavior generates a wilder and more dynamic aesthetic, very true to the original character of the atropurpureum within the variegated aeoniums.Imported plant from China reproduced in our greenhouse.

Aeonium variegados : cultivation and care
The variegated aeoniums have a different growth cycle compared to many other succulents, developing mainly during autumn, winter, and spring, while in summer they significantly reduce their activity.
- 🌞 A lot of filtered light and good ventilation
- 💧 Moderate watering only with the substrate completely dry
- 🔥 Avoid intense sun and excess humidity during summer
- ❄️ Protect against prolonged frosts
During the summer dormancy, the rosettes tend to progressively close to protect the growth center from extreme heat. In this phase, excess moisture can easily cause root problems, especially with high temperatures and tropical nights.
Observing the plant and adapting to the actual growing climate is much more important than following strict watering schedules.
