Echeveria "Lotus Lantern" variegated – Origin: Asia

The Echeveria "Lotus Lantern" variegated is the variegated form of this hybrid highly valued for its compact structure and marked color intensity. It develops dense rosettes of triangular and pointed leaves, where the cream variegation mixes with dark greens that, under good lighting, evolve into deep reds and highly contrasted burgundy tones.

The Echeveria "Lotus Lantern" variegated exhibits medium growth, maintaining a low stature and symmetrical shape over time. It intensifies its coloration under light and thermal stress conditions, creating a very defined visual effect thanks to the contrast between its dark tones and the light variegation on each leaf.

Variegated Echeveria: cultivation and care

Variegated echeverias develop a lower photosynthetic capacity than their completely green counterparts, which directly affects their growth rate, sensitivity to excess sunlight, and tolerance to watering.

  • 🌞 A lot of filtered light and soft exposure
  • 💧 Water only with the substrate completely dry
  • 🔥 Avoid extreme heat and prolonged humidity
  • 🌱 Slower growth than non-variegated echeverias

Environmental stability, good ventilation, and avoiding sudden location changes help maintain more compact rosettes and a more stable variegation over time.

During intense summer, they may partially slow down their growth, especially in warm climates. In these phases, controlling excess moisture is much more important than increasing watering frequency.
